Walked out of my bedroom yesterday morning to find my Fan shrimp (Keith) on the floor, dead :/ :sad: .

After inspecting the tank I realised that the hole that lets the pipes from the external filter was just big enough for him to squeeze through as the lid was not completely on after a water change.

Two things have emerged from this sad occurence;

1) A lesson to everyone with legged things in their tanks - put you lids on and check for holes. :-(

2) I am now thinking of replacing keith with a blue lobster but cannot find anywhere that tells me how big they grow :S ?

R.I.P Keith................. :sad:

you've got way to many fish in one tank. find the surface area of your tank by multiplying base x width i think divide that by 12 and that will give how many inches of fish you can put in your tank

2nd of all plecos can get up to 3 feet long or at least i've seen them that long. I might be wrong but you ought to check into that. :flowers: :cake:

The plecs I have wont get to that big because they are not the common plecs. I have a clown plec and a bristlenose plec.

I may have the size incorrect as there is load of room in the tank and the fan shrimp was in a seperate tank to the one listed.

the tank is 4 foot by 2 by 2.

Were you not sure if the fish you saw were plecs?
