Suggestions

This is a picture of my tank and I was looking for your suggestions on how you would plant it. I know it is a pretty rubbish tank and at present the equipment is all wrong but I am trying to plan ahead. Also It is in need of a clean but I am having a few problems at the moment. I think that I deffinetly need some tall plants at the back and I would like a carpet of something at the front. What do you think would go well with my rocks? and how would you make use of the tank. The plants have all really just bee thrown in so please don't critise the planting it was not done properly. I am just trying to get something to grow.

Also it might not be great but I bet the fish are happier thank a year ago.

it looks like mine i definatily want to change mine is well.unfortunilty i cant help because every time i try and change mine it always looks the same.it would look nice with some drift wood and some more plants tho

Its always tricky when planting up a tank to get it too look tip-top, mainly because theres so many options and you cant decide what will look best! What i try to do is keep the same species of plant together in bunchs to maximise their effect. I always try and leave a fairly 'open' area in the tank as well.

the main problem I can see is not planting in bunches. Groups of 3 and 5 work best. I would go for some fast growing plants such as h polysperma, in fact any hygrophila species, from the picture I think you have liliopsis there, which I've never been able to grow personally. It's hard to advise you on exactly what to do, I would have a look at a few pictures of planted tanks online and see what kind of look and type of tank you want to go for, there are many options.

I got bored of ordering the same plants from greenline and ordered an unlabelled collection (great quality) but I have no idea what half the plants are. A google search revealled no pictures of liliopsis so if anyone has a picture I will confirm it. Thnks for the advice.
