Hi, Friends

it was like a month before i posted pics of my new aquarium, and i got lots of negative reviews. Well, it was not correct so i am happy with the reviews. Earlier i started with almost all gold fishes. Then i realize how big they can grow and how much waste they produce. So, returned them to one of my LFS who took them for free. I started off new again, I got 4 tiger barb babies, 4 guppies, 2 bangal danio and one shubhunkin gold( as my mom liked it and insisted me to not to return it in any circumstancnes).

Mine is a 15 gallon(UK gallon) aquarium. With four live plants in it and some artifical. I looking forward for a driftwood.

my shubunkin gold fish.
The water looks cloudy in the pic but it is not. it very clear, If fact when any one comes at our home, he usually says" is it artificial". LOL!

Image of my plants
i dont know what is it,"its name"

Today i did an experiment. My filter is attached with a small pipe, which brings outside air in to the tank. The pressure of water is so high that, i had to connect a small tube with holes in it, so it minimize the pressure a bit. When it runs in full pace i.e with the tube, my fishes says"run for your life" lol!

i mean will it work and will tha air in sufficient for them to breathe or should i connect the airstone tube.

My future plans are to go for a 100gallon aquarium with dimensions like 4.5 foot X 1.5 Foot X 2 foot (H)

i love live plants, and will go for, i had seen my shubunkin eating old plants leaves is it normal also sometimes tiger babes also nip the old leaves.

And you gonna get a load of negative comments again with coldwater and tropical fish together.

goldies can tolerate higher tempratures and every body says they wont grow any bigger than they need to to the size of the tank but IMO if it gets to big be prepared to give it to someone else

The tank looks so bright! It looks really good I like the angels. But I wouldent put a goldfish with tropicals even though they can live in a tropical tank.

Are you being serious thats the background picture of a fake marine setup there are no angels in there.

I had bad experiences when Tiger Barbs and Guppies when I first started out with fish 20 years ago. I'd keep an eye on the guppies to make sure the Barbs don't start biting their fins.

I asked about keeping cold water fish with tropical as I had seen it in a tank years ago and I think the pet-shop guy told me putting a cold water fish in a tropical fish tank accelerates their life span.

lol I had a heart attack, Though those angel fish on the background were real, thought you had like 15 in a 10gallon lolz

Very Very colourful tank. I like that alot would look nice in my bedroom. Nice.

Well guys i get your negative replies. Mostly people loves the negativity here. NEVERMIND !
Hey only negative replies make a positive thing :).

alright regarding that gold fish.
http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/gold...kinGoldfish.php
read this link it clearly says it will grow upto 6 inch,

And with in 6 month or 7 , i will switch to 100gallon aquarium. SO wont be a problem for me. :)

I want to add a lot of plants in there,

Also the background really sometimes we also get a look like some fish is hiding there, instead it was a picture

i will change it, the cleaning is scheduled on 3 march.btw i do a 20% water change every second day.
tiger barbs and guppies are very choosy , i gave them pea they refuse it .
so i feed them with frozen blood worms and those red tiny balls dont know what is called :), but fish love them.

I would like to add more, i have seen lots of pics of aquarium in this forum. And one thing i want to say

I am no where close to them, the idea they use man had to say they are very creative. In India, they are list bothered about the natural looks. But i love them, i want to gave my aquarium(although its small) a good look.

I am looking forward to add a drift wood into it.

hey

i had golden sand some one on the forum told me they make water a bit alkaline, and driftwood make it acidic. will it neutralize the pH.

I had a internal filter installed which has a oxygen pipe attached to his mouth, when the filte runs the outer air comes in the aquarium. My question is while this air is sufficient for the 16g tank, or should i attach the pump wire to, they are there but as the pump makes a lot of noise so i removed it.
Also i had attached a pipe with holes to reduce the pressure of water(as the fishes go holly polly with the fllow).
Does the flow is important or i can go with it.

I was always told that it's not that amount of airbubles in the water that provides oxygen to the tank, it's the amount of surface movement of the water.

If the pump is too strong and your fish can't swim with the current then turn it down (if you can) or buy a spray bar so that the surface water moves sufficiently to oxygenate the water.
You could just experiment with the strength of the current, turn it right down and if the fish starts to hang about at the top of the water gasping then there is not enough oxygen and you know the answer to your question.

Your aquarium is very bright. but I kinda like it!!!!!

Can I ask why you have such a bright background? Do you not think it detracts from the fish you have in the tank?

Perhaps its different looking at it with your own eyes, but I cant see any of your real fish cause the background hurts my eyes to stare too long.
