Hi,

thanks for reading this, I am hoping to buy someone a tank as a gift.

They have enjoyed tropical fish for 18 months now and wish to progress on to a some what bigger tank. I believe the current tank is 20l.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thank you all!

Laura

In the US, Petsmart has pretty good prices. Since you said liters though, I assume you probably aren't in the US.

Uk wise - go for a large pet chain...pets at home is good for tanks but I I would not recommend ever getting fish from there!!
Also..... ebay!! I brought my first large tank from there and it's been fab!!
Good luck and let us know if there is anything else we can do to help!

Try your local FreeAds or similar. THeres always tanks in there, pretty cheap and you can haggle to some extent. You could possibly get them to keep the filter media damp too if they haven't taken it apart yet.

Loads of people just can't get stuck into fishkeeping, capitalise on that! Garage sales, Aquarist-classifieds, local papers, freecycle.org are all places to get second hand tanks for cheap.
