Suggestions For Tankmates For A School Of Neons

more than a month ago i did an overhaul on all 3 of my tanks. I moved my 2 Spotted corries, 2 Dojo Loaches, and 3 female adult guppies with their survivng 5 adolescent offspring into my planted 29g. I recently added 10 neon tetras to the tank. Since adding them i have really come to appreciate the beauty of such colorful schooling fish. I would like to add to this in the tank as much as possible with more neons or another small colorful schooling fish. I understand i am approaching crowded status but i am open to removing non schooling fish from the tank to make room. I have a whisper 30/60 filter on the tank and do water changes every 2 weeks.

Zebra danos maybe? The black/blue and white stipes might be a good contrast.

And remember, NO angels and widow tetras

I wouldn't add zebra danios (very active fish) to neons (shy and timid fish). I don't think they would appreciate it much.

Have you thought of going with some of the dwarf corydoras species? Being absolutely tiny, you could have a shoal of say, 10 of them in with your neons. It won't be too colourful, but definatly full of live

If something colourful, perhaps a shoal of 5 harlequins?

i wouldnt go for danios either... i have 5 in my 45g tank and they are sooo active and that would stress out the neons big time, well so i read somewhere

Neons + zebras = bad. I'll remember that.

don't dismmiss danios altogether, just because ZDs won't work
glowlight danios D.choprae and dwarf danios D.nigrofasciatus will be ok with neons.

You may want to try some small rasboras like boras maculata or rasbora bridgette or rasbora hengelli

clown loach also a good choice but they eventurally need bigger tank. Go loach
