Suggestions for Planted 6 Gallon

Hello, pretty soon I am going to be receiving a planted 6 gallon from a friend. It doesn't have any stocking and was thinking about making it a shrimp tank. I was wondering if there are any nano fish that would be ok with shrimp. Any suggestions would be great!

The smaller Rasbora like chili would work. Borora merah, or lamp eye rasbora are beautiful too.

Boundava has the right idea. Nano rasbora are pretty nice, and are very small schooling fish. I just got some Strawberry Rasbora and they are fun to watch and starting to color up nicely.

What are the tank dimensions (length x width x height)?

What is the GH (general hardness), KH (carbonate hardness) and pH of your water supply?
This information can usually be obtained from your water supply company's website (Water Analysis Report) or by telephoning them. If they can't help you, take a glass full of tap water to the local pet shop and get them to test it for you. Write the results down (in numbers) when they do the tests. And ask them what the results are in (eg: ppm, dGH, or something else).

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll be sure to do some water testing but I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a school of chili rasboras. How many should I get for a 6 gallon that will also have shrimp?

These are tiny fish which need a large group or they'll be stressed. That number will be OK in a 6 gallon tank.

If it's a tall tank with a small footprint, I would leave it at that, If it's a shallow tank with a larger footprint...

I would wait a month or two to see how the filtration does... Then probably add another 12-18 Pygmy corydoras.
