Suggestions for improving my aquarium

hello there!.. I currently have a 10 gallon aquarium with 2 betta fish and a nerite snail. I am looking for ways to improve my fish tank. I want to try and make it a really good tank overall, what are some things I can fix or improve? Here is some info on my tank

1. Water parameters. (Nitrite 0.1, Nitrate 5, Hardness 300, chlorine 0, KH 180, PH Neutral
2 . How often you do water changes and how much. 1-2 weeks around 50%-30%
3. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water. Api quick start, Stress coat + and sometimes a little bit of API aquarium salt
4. What tank mates are in the tank. 1 male Koi Betta and 1 female baby betta, there is a tank divider for them also have a nerite snail
6. Tank size. 10 gallon
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish? Koi betta




tank age: 8 weeks
tank temp: 81-71


Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Filter media 1 top fin filter cartridge and poly-fil and sponge

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): I recently added a java fern plant to my tank the rest of the plants are fake.

You could add some live floating plants! The bettas would feel much more comfortable. Frog bit would be a great choice.

Anubias is another easy to grow plant, to go with your Java fern. It has broad leaves that some betta like to rest on. It seems you are doing pretty good. If you do not already have one, I would get a tight fitting lid. The betta will jump over the divider if given a chance, or even jump out of the tank. Also, remember that baby bettas need more frequent water changes than normal(or so I have been told), since they put out a lot of hormones as they grow.

Honestly they are all super easy. I have had 0 problems with the 4 or so types I have had. Whereas I have lost over 100 stem plants. I am just really bad with plants, though, due to inconsistent fertilizing.

I use flourish by seachem, as well as an iron and magnesium additive. But the sturdy plants like anubias don't really need fertilizers, they will just grow slower without them.

I like Anubias Butterfly the best but others good beginner tank plants. I think the Butterflies are prettiest. They resemble philodendrons which I love. Got mine online from YourFishStuff. Awesome healthy big plants.

Your tank looks nice. I would change all the plastic plants to live or silk as plastic will damage betta fins.
You need to invest in an ammonia test kit as it is highly toxic for the fish.
The water is too hard for betta. To help your fish thrive you could use Reverse Osmosis water which should be a gradual transition.

I have a ammonia test kit already my ammonia is 0

That's good. It wasn't included in your parameters in post #1.
Also what do you mean "Temp 81-71"?
