Suggestions For A Community Tank

Personally I don't think your tank is big enough for any Angel Fish, this is just my opinion however.

I'd stick with the red eyes and as has already been suggested up them to 6.

Okay, I've looked at all the fish you've considered, and will be doing some research for suitable substitutes,
This could take a few days, so please be patient

tiger barb
clown loach
Geophagus
shark(minnow)
Pleco (no larger than 4 inches when grown)
Cory catfish
tiger barbs
cory catfish
 blue gourami
 angels
4 gold barbs
4 panda cory
2 Bolivian Ram  (has a wider range or water parameters than the German Blue Ram)"

I will say that Rams are probably the best geophagus substiute, even the scientific name fits,
mikroGEOPHAGUS

I've had 2 angel fish that grew very large in this same 35 gallon tall hex tank till I moved and lost a lot of fish and closed the tank 10 years ago.  I remember the angels didn't move very fast and swam from middle to top areas of the tank.  They seemed content in this tank.  With the Cory cats and pleco as mainly bottom swimmers,  the gourami and angels swimming in the middle to top of the tank, and the rams swimming from middle to bottom areas,  I think it makes for a good mix to fill all areas of the  tank.

I ordered the fish via liveaquaria.com--being shipped via one day air.  14 day live guarantee

final stocking:
5 swartz's catfish
2 angels
1 dwarf neon blue gourami
2 bolivian ram
1 bushy nose pleco

Thanks for all your opinions---they did help my final decision.

Id way remove the gold barbs. They are quite nippy, Id say substitute them with odessa barbs. They are more colorful

I didn't order any barbs--they were out of stock so I added the angelfish instead.  Will have my fish tomorrow.

Fish arrived this morning and are healthy and swimming in their new home.   I recommend liveaquaria if you have a big enough order---$30 minimum.

Thanks for all the opinions---they did help me make my final stocking list.

well some bad news and good news--2 of my swartz's corys died within 4 hours of adding them to my tank---guess the traveling from Liveaquaria and the slight change in tank parameters was too much stress for them---the good news is that now 4 days letter all 9 of the remaining fish are eating and thriving---how long before the corys might spawn--any thing I can do to aid them in spawning?

:rip: sorry to hear about that.
Did you drip acclimatize them?

Glad to hear the rest are doing good though!

I believe water changes aid in spawning, though don't quote me on this.
