Zoddy - yes definitely for the 35 gal. The 10gal will be a guppy tank for my daughter once it finishes it cycle. That Bolivian Ram looks stunning!

Tek - I already own the Dwarf Chain Loaches. My LFS sells them for $14 each with a 15% discount when you buy more than 3.

Gville - it's really a toss up this point: Rams or C. Apistos. I seriously can NOT decide, and sadly I can't stock both. Which is why, in the tradition of fishkeepers everywhere, I'm thinking of getting another 35 gallon tank! Lol.

I think the Apistos look more colorful in general, but I have no personal experience with them. If you want to see what it is like to have Rams, I logged more information than you need in my journal here:

Rams. The water must be in the 80-82 F or 28-30 C range. Bolivian rams should be fine though. Not Blue, gold or electric blues.

Are you suggesting those high temperatures for Bolivian rams?

OP - what is the size of this tank that you are planning?

The Bolivian Rams I've seen don't seem to have all that many colors. Is upping the temp of my tank to 80F a problem? I didn't think it would be.

Bolivians look very drab in the LFS - but once they are settled....

No, i was suggesting it for Ble Rams. I ised to keep them. Bolivians are beautiful too.

You can get Apistos for roughly the same price as your Chain Loaches, if not in the LFS, then online.
I think Forktail Rainbowfish prefer slightly harder water though, and most Apistos like softer.

I live in Canada and when I was looking for my loaches online I could not for the life of me find a place that would ship to me. Then I decided to google and see if there were any fish stores I was as-of-yet unaware of (yeah... prolly should have done that first lol).
