bristle nose are good, and come out during the day. should be ok size wise but should check elsewhere.

:hi: to TFF!

Bristlenose plecs(Ancistrus dolichopterus), and pitbull plecs(Parotocinclus jumbo) are both small and peaceful plecos suitable for small tanks. There are a few other small ones, but these two are usually the most widely available.

You can feed them algae wafers and cucumber/courgette, they will not get by on natural growing algae alone unless this tank is horribly treated, which I'm sure it isn't as you're taking the time to research potential stock.

I agree with the bristlenose. I've had an albino bn for almost a year now and he's maybe 3" long. I don't expect him to get much larger and he doesn't bother our plants at all. His only downside is he's the laziest pleco I've ever seen in my life...I swear he only "works" the glass or rocks just for a minute or two just so he doesn't render himself 100% useless. It's quite comical actually as he usually does that when he gets hungry and he wants us to throw in his algae wafer (and if we don't put in wafers then he'll just eat the bloodworms meant for the other fish).

He's so ridiculous that sometimes he lets his sucker detach so he's just laying there on his back wedged between the slate rocks and we have to make sure he's breathing. Lazy a**

A 3ft tank is usually about 180 litres.
As long as the tank is mature, then you should have no problem adding a Pleco from the link that OscarWilde posted.

I have a Flash pleco, who is very colourful, & after a year, still only measures about 2 inches.

Only appears to live off bogwood, which is readily available, & has not touched any of my live plants at all.(My main interest is plants, so anything eating them would be out very quickly)

Would highly recommend- mines a real cutie :good:
