my betta SUDDENLY became what I can best describe as paralyzed. Absolutely no visible issues externally on fins or body, has been eating well consistently. No changes in his water/environment since his last water change 5 days ago. Was swimming and interactive last night when I went to bed, this morning he swam out to say hi, then tucked himself into a spot at the bottom of his aquarium to rest and hasn't moved since. When I gathered him up with a net, he's still breathing, he attempts to move but only his front pectoral fins flutter slightly, completely unmoving anywhere from his front fins back. What could this be?

He is in a 10 gallon tank with filtration and a heater that maintains water temp at 79, only fish in the tank, no changes inside or outside his tank for days. Is an older gentleman as he has the grey/whiteness under his chin, but all other body colour still is vibrant and red as it has always been. I have not checked water parameters, don't have the means to yet, will be getting a kit shortly, but wanted to send off this question first.

Perform an 75%+ water change immediately and test the water as soon as possible. Sounds as if something in the water has poisoned him whether it's ammonia (for example) or an external chemical thats made its way into the water column
