How long would you say to let things settle before i return the fish back into the tank? Cheers

Assuming the water is dechlorinated, the right temperature, etc. they can go back anytime. On the other hand, if you changed to sand that maybe wasn't well washed enough, you might wait a few more hours. But depending on where your fish are presently (like a bucket), they might be better off in the tank.

Waters dechlorinated, sand really well washed temps up to normal. Fish are in my QT at the moment.

Was thinking leave it to settle over night then pop them back in tomorrow but wasnt sure if that was to quick ....

If the sand has settled and water looks clear (Mabe an hour or two after putting in sand), I would put the fish back in. I assume your tank is cycled. You need to add fish in a reasonable time to keep beneficial bacteria at same level as before.

Hows best way to acclimate fish going from Qt to main tank. The temps roughly the same

Macro nutrients are fine to front-load (NPK); but, in terms of micro-nutrients, it is better to do smaller more frequent dosings throughout the week. This becoming even more important in high-tech environments (in presence of Co2 and high lighting) with fast growing stem plants
I do an all-in one fertilizer of macro and micro combined, Thrive. Dosing 2 x weekly on my 5 low-tech, planted tanks.
