Substrate

I am going to change the substrate in my tank shortly (currently yellow gravel) , to something more natural looking ...

I am swaying towards sand , though having doubts on how easy it is to maintain

Which would you recommend ?

I hope so because I spent loads on it! 2.50 for 15kg what a rip off.

If you have playsand, watch out for compacting and gas bubbles building up. It's recommended to stir through the sand every so often. I usually do this just before a water change.
