I got my stylophora Cat's Paw coral at the weekend and when I got it home and into the tank I noticed a dark brown small patch on the end of one of it's branches.

It hasn't got any worse but I am wondering if anyone could give me any advice. Do I need to do anything for it or just leave the patch and keep an eye on it?

I am thinking maybe it sustained a bit of transit damage on the way home maybe as I didn't notice the spot in the shop although I can't be 100% certain of that

All parameters are spot on and it had the patch on it before I took it out of the bag. The shop I bought it from do iodine dips for all their new corals before putting them on display and up for sale to their customers btw.

All the polyps are out fully bar the area of brown. It's very dark in colour and doesn't look fleshy or mushy or anything if you get me.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Tough to say without pics, but chances are if it hasn't spread your'e OK

It didn't get any worse but I 'operated' anyway just to make sure, removing the brown patch with a very sharp and very clean blade. It's doing really well now. Thanks for taking the time to comment though :D
