I've got my brand new good ole shiny piece of black background just waiting to be put on the back of my tank. My only question is: How?
I know from vinyl graphics on glass and window tinting, that any piece of anything put on glass needs to be stuck pretty much atom to atom or it'll turn out dark/miscolored/bubbly and so forth.

How should i go about attatching this to my tank?

Vaseline and a squeegy?

Two things i don't have in my house  (or readily available)

Also, what about vaseline and squeegy... Do they watch? Should i use the squeegy then have other uses for the vaseline later? Coat the squeegy with vaseline? Put the handle of the squeegy in the vaseline then rub it on my background?

I know! Wrap the background around the squeegy then- no... thats not it either...

The vaseline can be smeared on the glass and the vinyl background applied. The squeegee would be to get the air bubbles out. The vaseline doesn't dry out so in theory the interface should be good once the air bubbles are removed.
Personally I just sellotaped mine to the back, less than ideal as you're aware.

You could also use any cooking oil, maybe baby oil (never tried this), and an old library or credit card.

Agreed. Veg oil works better than vas apparently.

I don't use it, just put a strip of clear sticky across the whole length of the top back of the tank - this will stop it getting wet and hence blotchy.

Make sure that both the back of the tank glass and the background is DRY first.

i just used sellotape i dont often focus on the background i focus more on what is in the tank i have only got a bg because i dont wish to see my wall behind it.

I'll be using matt black blackboard paint on my tank when i get it, its what i used many years ago and because its matt it didn't shine too much B)
