I have a new tank 25 inches deep and it seems a waste to not use some of the higher water (perhaps in a corner). I was thinking of something that provided plently of hiding spaces for fish: maybe a kind of thin wine rack like structure or a lot of rubber tubes short and long kind of glued and knotted together. Has anyone sugestions as to what materials or objects to use (I have found out (verbally) that straight silicone glue is poisonous to fish), so would I have to use proper aquarium glue or would super glue be ok?
Also: what materials could be used to make a cave other than polystyrene which I'd imagine is a bit floaty to handle reasonably, is there anything just a bit more dense than water?
Another thought: how about a bird nesting box type object, perhaps a small football with smooth holes in it suspended from the top of the tank?
Please let me know what you think.

Straight silicone adhesive works fine, you just need to avoid any that says it is designed to prevent things like mold. Those will contain things like pesticides and herbicides that may affect your fish.
