Stronger laws on animal murdering?

Hi Steppy, :)

No I have never been there. I'm actually from Canada and I as far as I know that doesn't occur very often here. But I never really hear about it happening in the States either...well at least in cities...residential areas and such. I know (or at least from what I have heard) that it does happen on farms more often etc.
We do have some animals that come in having been shot from pellet guns by stupid people doing it for fun.

How is your dog by the way? I haven't heard much about the situation in awhile.

she is still limping, but carrying on like nothing is wrong. i get the feeling that one day, my dad is going to try to sneak her away and put her down, thinking i won't notice, just as they did with my cat :grr: i'm not even goin there....

it is VERY common in kentucky....i can't even count the number of animals my sister lost down there. in addition to that, i see dead dogs in the ditches and stuff usually when i go down there.

yes..of course it's safe....but does the cat like it? does the cat not sit at windows and doors, trying to escape every chance they get?

most cats i know do.

maybe the owner of the cats should actually take care of his own cats, and take them to the humane society himself....it doesn't sound to me like he even gives a crap about them.

even if they are taken to the humane society, they most likely will be put to sleep anyway...
If the cat has never been exposed to an outdoor life then it simply does not matter. If a cat has never been outside it "usually" doesn't have the urge to do so in most cases. I have have two cats(one 18 and one 11) and they have never been outdoor cats....nor have they tried to get out because of it. And honestly I wouldn't risk letting my cat outside with all of the racoons, cars, other cats etc.

Well you see some people aren't that smart. They let their cats do as the please..and then things like this occur.

No that does not usually happen....at least where I'm from. Most of the time they make sure that the cats are healthy and then put them up for adoption. And infact if they were sick they would put them down with euthanol.

Well I'm very sorry to hear about your dog. What do you think should happen?

Well I think that's very sad...very very sad. :-(

It's really common here too. Ideally it would be nice if they could be taken to a shelter, but most people don't have the time to trap cats all day to have them be released out again the next day. I'm not saying that every cat that is seen is shot, but there are many situations where it does occur.

Hi Sorrell, :)

How is howie? lol

Anyway I strongly feel that just because it occurs doesn't mean that it's right.

Things like that just irk me...I know I can't change it but I can't help but voice my opinions on it. One of my cats hates other cats(except for the one she lives with) and I know that if she got out she could potentially do some damage to another cat. I just know that I would be crushed if I found out that someone shot my cat...for doing what is natural. :(

i think she should continue to live....if you saw her, you would know why....she doesn't mope about her injury....she instead just holds it up, or tries to ignore it....she's handling this better than anyone else here! lol.

it was bad when we went camping though, because she had to climb the 4 stairs goin in....and she wanted to jump them! sheesh....if only she knew that she has a disabled leg back there!!!

if u'd like to continue talkin bout this, maybe we could through pm? kinda hi jackin here. lol.

I'm not saying it's right and I would hope that someone's pet wouldn't be in that situation. What I'm mainly referring to is barn cats/feral cats. There was a neighboring tom about 5 years ago that would come through now and then and kill all the male cats in the barn. I know he was shot and I don't know what else we could've done. :dunno:

P.S. Howie is good :p

Well I don't know if these cats were born and raised outside but they do belong to someone. The owner of them does need a reality check though. Even still...if these cats were a threat I think that animal control should have stepped in and euthanized them properly. What's wrong with them???!!! lol

Good I'm glad to hear it. I just think he is so cute. I want to get one but my boyfriend has his heart set on a French Bulldog. haha
