Yesterday I got a few ghost shrimp and put them in my tank. The were cheap, cool looking, figured they'd add no real bioload. So, to get to the point, now my neons are acting all scared. 2 are hiding behind plants, and the other 5 are hiding behind a rock under the filter (where they never go because of the water current). The only time they come out is to eat, then they hide again. Did the ghost shrimp cause this? If so, why!?! Don't the neons know the shrimp can't hurt them?
I've been treating them for ick for a few days and their specks have seem to cleared up. Maybe that's related?
I have to say that while I love the way neons look, I am beginning to hate keeping them. There is always something bothering at least one of them....
My water stats are ammo 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5, temp 80 (raised it for the ick treatment, it normally is 76), ph 7.2.
