Any idea what this is??? It doesn’t look like any root that has been in this tank… it’s not moving, so likely not an insect larvae… a shrimp carcass, maybe ( it’s not a shed shell ) only Armano, and one Vampire in this tank, so the color doesn’t look like either??? This is in my African Tetra tank, so if it was a carcass, the only things that would have worked it over, would have been shrimp, or the 3 lined glass cats… I don’t see any fish missing?? ?

Bit hard to tell because it's a tad blurry but could be a dead shrimp covered in worms and epistylis, or a piece of plant root

When one of my Amanos died I didn’t know for a couple of days until a water change dislodged it from behind the lava rock wall. That carcass was that colour and the smell wreaked. A much needed large water change was needed. My tank smelt like a seaside town.
