Strange turn of events......

its all happening in the uk and live...............bring- em- on, :D

a dream coming True......... IBC here we come

great advice bettaman much appreciated. We'll get all that going ASAP. Tuesday is fine for sending the little fellas off. We're on the late shift this week so we can catch the postman!

Oh they've stopped now and we have removed the female. He was starting to get rather shirty with the poor girl.

i think she'll be ok tho. We have put her in the males betta tank in the front room while he's looking after the fry. It's like her having a mansion to herself.

roll on 36 hours!

just carefully put some in the tank away from the nest and that will start things going the male may even eat some watch him closely .what temp is the tank at if around 80 then you should see fry on Sunday about this time....and by Thursday they should be free swimming when you can remove the male and give him a good feed,

Edit keep you lights on on that tank.......

Just my opinion, and alot of local betta breeders, but liquifry is not that good for feeding fry. It is better for feeding infusoria and it will cause your water to cloud up. It is nothing more that the egg yolk bettaman told you to use. I would stick with that, but remove the remains after feedings so it doesn't foul the water. Some have found that liquifry will actually kill off your spawn. Some people will add it to a tank a few days ahead of time along with live plants so that the infusoria the plants create for the fry, can fed on it.

have added a few shots. I'll keep an eye on it and see how we go.

So far he's keeping watch on the eggs.

Look forward to seeing the wee fellas on Sunday :)

I have added a few blood worms to the tank for him which he hasn't touched. He did pop and have a nibble on the liquidfry tho........

Will have a look tomorrow and suck out anything that hasn't been eaten.

Current temp is 80 and the top of the tank is covered with clingfilm......

Thanks guys

Cheers

Gilly

Awww go daddy!

I never had a problem with the liquifry clouding my water, just go easy on it and only add a couple of drops

First of all, congratulation on your first attempt! Now are they out yet? :) Around 24 to 30 hours hatching! :p

they are just starting too.

Only problem is alot have dropped to the bottom of the tank and dad isn't picking them up. We can see them trying to swim up to the top but they don't get very far.

:S

Any ideas on what we can do? Will the eggs/fry/little fellas survive on the bottom of the tank?

just a quick update. After going to bed at midnight and waking up at six to check on the little fella I was delighted to see a fairly big bubblenest going with about half the fry in it. By the time I checked again at 9 almost all of them were in the nest!

Result

Will keep you updated

Marvelous!

He's doing a good job. Its really hard to comprehend the work the male has to do till you see them doing it. Poor things :/

fISH AND MICROWORMS ON THE WAY.....SHOULD HAVE BY 10 TOMORROW, START A NEW CULTURE OF WORMS STRAIGHT AWAY....

:D
