strange plants

hi all

i bought some p-lants and they are starting to grow like a brown algae with very fine hairs i know that ur thinking why dont u just chuck it away but u see i am only 11 and have recently taken an intrestr in cold water fishand it isnt as easy to get money as it si with u no effence or nofin

It sounds just like algae to me.
I think the best thing to do is take the plants out of the tank, give them a good scrub in clean water with a clean brush (make sure there is no soap left on the brush or anything). Rinse them well, then put them back in the tank.
There is no point in buying new plants, IMO it would be a total waste of money, and they would only end up in a land-fill site anyway. You can just clean them.
When you're feeling more confident with the tank, or you've saved up, you could oput some real plants in, whish use the same nutrients as algae so stop it from growing as much.
