Strange insect creature?

I found this in my 29g freshwater. Any thoughts? It's about one inch long.

Looks like a damsel fly nymph. Hope you don't have small fish, they will try catching and eating them.
 
Von rio tetras are the smallest- not a problem, I hope?

So is it possible that this damselfly nymph matured and then left the aquarium? I found a really odd and very similar creature on my window sill!!! I have searched and searched the aquarium and I can't find it anywhere.

Yes. Damselflies lay their eggs in water. They hatch and the nymph stays in the water for months Then they emerge as damseflies. i have no idea how it got into your aquarium, but they are voraceous predators. Make sure it is out of there.
