Hi kids :)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v251/tha...berryNCream.jpg

This is a pic of one of my VT's, StrawberriesNCream. This is him in a 1 gal tank. I decided to move him to a 2.5 gal tank.

He seems unhappy there, he's been hanging around at the bottom, not swimming much. He does eat and his tail looks great, no signs of fin rot.

He was never the outgoing kind, he was usually shy and flares once in a while in a mirror of himself.

The only thing I notice other than being legarthric (Sp?) is that his chin seem to become more white. His entire body, save for the tips of his tail, was all red with no other coloration/spots, ect. Then today I noticed his chin seemed to get lighter, almost, not quite white.

Is that some form of illness?

I do add salt after water changes. Stress coat too. Water testing is normal and about 76-77* in temp.

Im thinking he's not liking his bigger home. He's been like this for a week, since I transferred him ( a week ago)

Anyone know if he's just depressed or what?

EDIT: Study the pic, is he a VT BF? is that possible? the fins arent smooth like most VT's, Im doubting he's a pure VT.. what do you guys thing?

I have another question on another betta, which I'll ask after I get responses from StrawberriesNCream.

Columnaries maybe? There is another thread around here that was just talking about white lips? I'm not real good with diseases, but I'd check it out. Especially b/c if that is it, then it hits quick. He looks like a veil to me, a very pretty one at that! :D

no, the lips on him looks perfectly normal.

Im thinking it may be just color changing due to age, but he isnt old. maybe 6-9 months old?

Yeah 6-9 months doesn't seem old. But many change when they aren't old, so maybe that's what he's doing. I don't know for sure, but maybe stress can cause color changes. It just seems odd that it was after you switched his tanks.

I moved a few of my betta's around. several went to bigger homes, and they are much happier.

I'll keep an eye on him for awhile. I gave him a 100% water change earlier, so hopefully that'll help.

any other thoughts?
