well...we can't really answer your question unless we know what you want to put in the tank.

Mine is about 10x12x20 inches, and that one in the picture looks about the same size as mine. :)

Theyhave 10 gal complete setups at most pet stores and walmart for like $30. Comes with the tank, a hood, gravel, and a sample of stress coat.

Feel free to use that idea anytime..its an amazon sword. The substrate is black decorative rocks from Walmart craft department. You may get the vase there too.

thanks! i'll be on the lookout :)

thanks, flautist and SRC!

i have to return a pair of shoes at wal mart today so i'll drag the boyfriend through the fish section and find a tank. i don't think i can buy one just yet though, because i just moved and have to first buy a new bookshelf from ikea (mmm ikea) and i need to make sure i will have room on that for the tank. so i'll look at my options choose the tank, and i guess i can buy the bookshelf with respect to the tank i want :D

thanks again!

:) :D what ever you do make sure its bigger enough for the fish and make sure they cant jump out (said before i no but its a key fact to remember)

i' am getting a beta and i want something different or oridginal for a home for it. the small aquariums and fish bowls are just boreing. i've seen a picture of a beta living in a large vase with an aquatic plant growing up out of it. i thought this was kinda cool. and it would sure give alot more room than a fish bowl! does anyone have any crasy different (but safe! lol!) ideas??????

I was in Wal-Mart yesterday, back in the craft department and they had awesome, humongous goblets, they had to hold over two gallons and they were really awesome. I said that they would look cool with a betta in one, but of course you'd have to rig up some sort of cover.

That's about as far as my imagination goes today :zz, wish I had more ideas for ya.

Hmm... You could try making your own tank. Wow, I just had a cool thought- make one out of CD cases with CD's in with a clear front panel :)

was it one of those giant brandi glasses? i got on of those from wal mart and nelson is living in it now. he's loving it and bubblenesting like crazy :) it holds 2.5 gallons and it looks pretty cool!

I have 3 male bettas, 1 is in a blue tinted bathroom plastic trashbucket-it holds almost 1 1/2 gallons, it's thick on top and goes thinner to about 10" across at the bottom. My other 2 were bought at SAMS WHOLESALE--1 is round and had cheese balls in it that we got are kids---it's plastic with a lid and holds around 2 gallons, next one we bought some animal cookies for our kids---it's square and holds also around 2 gallons. These were aproximately 5.00 each except for the blue tinted trash can which I bought as a set at a yard sale. I don't like to spend 25.00 to 30.00 on a 2 1/2 gallon tank so I kind of go cheap, the bettas love them and they look like they have a blast swimming around. When I go to the store now or yardsale I'm always thinking how it might look for a betta home, there are certainly cheap betta homes out there, I change my homes about every 4 days.
