Strange Agassizii Tail

Hey guys, a friend of mine recently bought a pair of Apistogramma Agassizii but noticed his male has a tail shaped like a Cacatuoides. The tail isn't the usual diamond shaped tail familiar with an Agassizii. It's definitely an Agassizii though!


Any reasons why this might happen?

Its certainly very strange has a few longer spikes on his dorsal like a cac and the tail is open not diamond could this still be a agassizii? The body looks like a agassizi can't get any photos though. Looks exactly like my female

Apart from the fins of course
