Stockings

That is one nice goby do they pair with shrimp.

For my money I would look at a group of Lyretail Anthias a male and 5 females or 7-9 Chromis. My Chromis look fab in my 3ft, always together and clean up every last drop of food floating about. I am looking at putting a group of Anthias in my 100g FOWLR. I know they can be expensive but my LFS will do me a group of 6 for about £85.
For my money I also think there are nicer wrasse than the 6 line especially given their rep and the number of small easily bullied fish you have on your list. The Peacock/Vermiculate/Leopard is lovely (I'm biased as I just bought one), a yellow wrasse (eats worms :good: ), spotted wrasse, fine spotted fairy wrasse?

or for something completely different.

A big shoal of Chromis 20-30, a big shoal of Anthias 11-13, a shoal of cardinals 15 and a Lionfish :shifty:

All reef safe and an easy efficient way to get shoaling behaviour and to slowly lower the cardinal population :good:
You can send the dead ones (not that there will be anything left except Lionfish poop) to Fishy and he can suspend them on threads in an empty tank. The perfect Bangaii tank, low maintenence and comparitively high activity rate compared to live ones.

He's gonna go mental but that is a good post bet it took you ages.

The only problem with anthias is the feeding required - they need to be feed several times a day so its very easy to pollute the tank

ps a man after my own heart ' cardinals are boring'

I used to like them but the early ones I saw were obviously in fear of their lives as they were moving, all the ones I've seen since look like they are painted on the glass.

i completely agree, its a shame cos they are very pretty in their colourings.

on the goby front im kinda taken by this guy...

Tiger watchman goby

Lovely fish.

Think I prefer the Yellow Watchman though.

:good: love it!!!! Would rather have plastic fish than cardinals :D

oh, he's talking about fish, when i read the title i thought....hmmm sounds interesting

I would personally stick with 1 Mandarin as they are very difficult feeders.

What about a dwarf angel? Coral Beauty or a Flame Angel - depends what corals you plan on keeping.

Why not add a goby to that list? I would like a Yellow Watchman Goby but have not seen one in LFS.

Fire Fish are also beautiful :)

If you don't mind aggression you could consider a puffer but that would limit you CUC options.

I like a challenge with the manderins and have previous experience with them plus a great LFS to help me out with QT to get them feeding. Plus im after a mated pair too.

I was thinking a coral beauty but i read they can be a bit coral nippy?

Yellow watchman gobby is a good shout but i couldnt get a difinitive answer as to if they get on with blennies.

I love inverts so puffers etc would be out of the question.

bangii cardinal :good:

Not a big fan of the cardinals...find them a bit borring :zz

Coral Beauty supposedly nippy I saw a juvenile at LFS and it was fascinated with the feather dusters so prob not a good shout!

I just think they are amazing and can't decide detween that or a flame!

If you like the Yellow Watchman Goby and want inverts they are meant to be great with Pistol Shrimp.

Not sure what they are like with blennies, but would like to know as I would not mind a sailfin either :)

A nice shoaling fish would be good in a tank that size I'm sure someone can think of something?!

Someone was talking about jawfish the other day and they look quite nice especially the blue spot.

Again not sure what they are like with other bottom dwellers?

Feather Dusters are apparently part of dwarf angels diet in the wild so i'm not surprised he was fascinated by them. Most places i've read it's hit and miss with both coral beauty's and flame angels whether they are coral nippers. Will 2 tangs be ok in a tank that size. More a query than anything as i know they tend to require a lot of space.

One of my local fish shops sells mandarin pairs that they have feeding on frozen food and said they would be happy to demonstrate with any of the pairs in the display tanks.

In a 100g tank, yes fine. I would add the Kole before the Yellow

Can I add a BIG caveat here please - Mandarins may well be feeding on frozen, but they cant survive long term without pods - so either two cultures are required (in case one crashes and one always does!) or a large amount of live rock in a large tank.
