Stockings Over My Filter...

I've had a couple of guppies get their tails caught in my filter (Fluval 3 plus) and as a result one died and one lost his tail. I have done a quick fix it with a bit of net curtain over the larger holes.

Do you think if I put some nylon stockings over the filter this would prevent it and not affect the filtration? Perhaps even some fishnets

well i have used a netting to stop my fry getting onto my filter no probs the only thing is that big bits of crap dont go in the filter

Yeah, well I thought fishnettights might be the right diameter. Looks like I'm just going to have to try and find out.

Well it's on! I planted some new Cabomba Caroliniana at the same time so lots of greenery on the side of the filter at the moment....the ancistrus are having a field day and gorging themselves
