Having a few probs with stocking my tank (Juwel Rio 240). Got this list but think it's either

a) overstocked
b) not compatible

Any help would be appreciated!

2 angels, 4 discus, 20 cardinals, 10 cories, 10 loaches (B.sidthimunki) and 1 plec (L134).

What do you think? Water is soft and acidic (pH 6.5), temp set at 28c

Thanks!

You cant have the angel and the discuss in the same tank because they will attack each other. Also the angel when it grows big it will eat ur cardinal tetras. So remove the discuss and angel from your stocking list. By the way what type of loaches would you be having getting.

what sort of problems and do you have any water stats

No problems at all Jazzzz, I haven't got all these fish yet, I'm just enquiring! My water params are...

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 2

angels might be ok with cardinals, if you put the cardinals in first then introduce the angels young then youll be ok, touchwood, but avoid black angels, as ive heard they can be very aggressive

You could (if you removed the cardinals) have EITHER the discus or the angels with loaches and plec.

Oooooooook!

I already have 2 discus and 8 cories so they've gotta stay lol

If I was to buy angels they would be young ones and I would also be purchasing full grown cardinals so that shouldn't be an issue :D

Also Paul, instead of just telling me to remove all the cichlids from my list could you possibly suggest what would be appropriate instead :D Not being funny, just need some help :D

angels + discus = disaster, so dont mix them, cardinals may work but i doubt it will now, why not just keep discus with cories?

4 discus and 8 cories??? My tank would look empty lol!

Erm... guess it's back to the drawing board

Thanks for your help guys

Its recommended that each discus has 10g each, your tank is 55g, so 4 discus and the cories is pretty much stocked, I know they probably dont look like they fill that tank at the moment, but once full grown they will need the space.

Yeah had heard that, just a bit naff at working out exactly what I can keep! My discus are only small at the mo (2.5-3") so although I know they've got a substantial amount of growing to do, it's just hard to imagine them big!

Thanks again
