I have a few fish (see signature), and the tank is empty ,no plants ec. , so im off out tomorra to get some.I posted on here before about stockig and i was advised t ge rid of te clown loach.I know there suppost to be kept in groups, so im considering getting a small one to go with the 1.5 - 2 inch one i have got.Next year say this time next year, i will be getting a bigger tank maybe 180L one so, could i get away with it until then?

how big is your tank now? what kind of fish do you like?

70L i like both loaches i have got and also guppies, i might get rid of some of my current fish to make more room, just dont know where to take them.

Well you're pretty much over stocked even without the clown loach and the tetras/babrbs!
Clown loaches grow pretty big too, like 6 to 12 inches!
I have the same tank and I really don't think you can put any more fish in there

sorry :(

you cant get a clown loach and have it for a year in a 70L. it will be stunted, you need to rehome the one you have asap before getting anymore fish. just picture a 12-14" fish in your tank, then picture 2 of them!

i have just read on 3 webistes that clwn loaches only need a tank of 75 litres, but then 1 other site says 75 gallons
I appreciate advice, but surley is 3 websites say 75L is fine then sureley im not overstocked.

75 Liters is WAAY to small for a shoaling/social fish that grows over a foot.

This is the best place on the web to find information about loaches. There is no contest.

This is the page for Clown loaches.
http://www.loaches.com/species-index/clown...ia-macracanthus

The page is run by a bunch of loach nuts, some of which are publishing a book on loach species and their care.

I'm afraid you will have to rehome the loach you have as they can grow up tp 16" so require a minimum of 75 gallons.
