Check my siggy for a list of the fish I currently have. I am thinking about convicts, but would they get along with the fish I have?

If you go with convicts, get the same sex. That way you won't have to worry about breeding and killing your rams.

On second thought, your tank is pretty full as it is. I suggest you leave it with its current population. The parrots and GT will grow to 7"-8". With those 3 full grown you would be fully stocked. Throw in the rest of the fish you have and its overstocked. Depending on how aggressive your GT is, it will probably kill the rams and eat the tetras. My GT is now 7" and eats 3" giant danios, which are much faster than your rams. Good luck to you.

My GT isn't too agro and it's small at the moment. And I've read that GTs take a while to become full grown? The Rams have a short life span, so I figured by the time the GT was full grown the rams & tetras would either die off, or I could move them to the 30 gallon.

My GT has grown from 1" or so to the current 7" in about 10 months. If you move the rams and/or tetras (i'd leave the tetras for dithers/food) then you could definately do convicts, salvini, jack dempsey, blue acara. Lots of options. Here's my GT, i absolutely love him.

It would be possible to put them in there and live, I just woudnt think they would be able to establish territiories, so they wouldnt show any of thier interesting behaviors.

impur that photos sweet, is he always colored up like that, sorry about off threadiness.
Yup he is always colored that way. Everyone who sees him falls in love with him. If you sit close to the tank and watch them, my GT will usher all the other fish into the caves then sit right in front of you and flare his gills. Its crazy, he has such a protective personality.

A GT with a couple cons in a 75 is plenty of room for territories. The GT will take his territory, and the other fish get the rest!!! (Unless the GT wants those areas too :grr:  :grr: )

Kimmy,
A breeding pair of Cons in that situation would cause havoc...a trial and error situation, nonetheless. But if you say there will be less fish, only the GT and the Cons, I Believe it should work. But with the Parrots in there also...sounds overstocked already.

Impur, thats a great looking GT.

Great looking GT!!!

I love your description of him marshalling the other fish into the caves so he can show off!! Priceless!!
