Ok, this might be ridiculous, which is why I am posting, because I trust everyone to tell me so if it is.
I have a 10 gal w/one male betta & 4 bronze corys in it (the corys are about 1 inch each currently).
I've recently noticed that platys are pretty cool looking...
could I keep one platy alone, or would this just not be very exciting for the platy?
I don't want any breeding, and I don't want to overstock my tank

Thanks for any insight you can provide,
Katelyn

1) theres no garranty that the betta won't see colour and attack. 2) platies are social fish and often 'play' with each other so a lone one isn't the best idea but certainly can be done. the main worry is the betta

Platies can be kept alone. There is no guarantee that the Betta won't go after it though. The chances are higher with Guppies, Sailfin Mollies, and Lyretail Mollies though, because of their flowing fins. Bettas go after the flowing fins pretty readily. As far as space goes, you may run into bioload issues later as Bronze Cories can get large. If you don't have plans to upgrade, I would leave things as is for now.

Ok, thanks guys. I'll try not to seek out any platies then, I don't want to mess w/my betta, he's already doing so well with the cories, he might not like someone else in his area of the tank. But if one happens upon me, well at least I know it's not impossible.
