hi!

i have a 30x12x12 (80l) tank which at the moment is overstocked with...
6 sm goldies
7 zebra and leopard danios
1 weather loach
1 hara hara? poss hara jerdoni?
the goldfish are going in my pond soon and i'm moving my weather loach, danios and hara hara to a bigger tank!!!
so in my 30x12, i was thinking...
5 khuli loaches @ 15"
2 rams @ 5"
3 panda corys @ 5"
2 bronze corys @ 4"
1 albino bronze corys @ 2"
3 dwarf corys @ 3"
5 hatchet fish @ 5"
is this a possability?
will they get on together?
thank u all very much!!!

there is no heater in there
it would be to hot for the weather loach and hara hara!
my danios are fine and the temp of my room is 21-22*c anyway.

I see no serious compatability issues. The rams get pretty mean when breeding...you should look out for that. Oh and that tank is fairly bottom heavy. You've got mostly cories and khuli's which are bottom dwellers. Think about evening it out a bit. Maybe cut back on the cories or eliminate the khulis and add some more hatchets or maybe a school of tetras or danios. Not sure about the stocking levels since you asked about compatability. I'm no expert but that list seems compatible.

hmm
it's just that khulis and corys are some of my favouite fish!
what other stocking could you suggest?
thanks

i persionaly use the surfice area for stocking ie
30x12 = 30 inches of fully grown fish
30x24= 60 inches of fully grown fish
36x12= 36 inches of fully grown fish
24x6= 12 inches of fully grown fish
etc!!!!

I'm a long way from being anexpert, but....

I'm not sure how your surface area calculations work. For example, your tank surface area is 360 sq in, right? So where does the 30" come from? Just curious, but also concerned that youseem to have a lot of fish in relatively small tank.

Personally I use the Gallons=Inches rule, but like I said.... I'm no expert!

l x w =?
? divided by 12

soooo
30 x 12 = 360
360 divided by 12 = 30
so 30 inches of fully grown fish.
and yes i know i am over stocked please i am sorting it out.

I'd only have one group of 3 cories, then the group (4-5) of kuhlis. I'd keep the pair of rams and the 5 hatchets and add a trio of cherry barbs or a small group (5-6) of small tetra... maybe flame or rummy-nose, or cardinal.
You'll be overstocked on the inches-per-gallon guidelines, but as long as you keep up the water changes/vacs you should be fine. Just keep a close eye on the fish and make sure none are stressing. If you go with all those cories they'll being swimming on top of each other and I don't think they'd be too happy. Plus they'll crowd out the kuhlis. Oh, and I'd go for the black kuhlis if you can get them... they're not as shy as the regular (striped) ones are. So either keep a small group of each, or pick just one. And if you go with cories get them all the same kind. They will hang out with others, but not as much as if they're the same, kwim?
Good luck! Let us know how it ends up!
