Well, now that my dads got another job he can get glass almost free apparantly, but the glass cutter he knows is on hol till tuesday, so I can't get the glass till then...But hopefully I'll have it all constructed by next weekend, as being familiarised with sumps (now that i've looked up 100's of designs) I think I know what I am doing

For starters I would like a magalodorus uranscupus (I like the doradids), fire eel and/or Tyre track eel...Maybe a motoro ray or two but not if this limits what other rays I could add.

Tank dimentions are 6ft x 2ft x 3ft (wide) and will it will have 2 sump tanks which will hopefully give me an almighty filter (will be pumped round at 6500lph).

So people, any ideas?I'm sure you have  But please suggest fish that will fit in the tank, and no fish so small that I won't be able to see them  I wants fishees that aren't just awesome to look at but to look after aswell

This will be such a relief when its set up (a year and a half in the making), but I will have to stock it with the most prized fish, which might be something like a red tailed gold arrowana and pearl ray(s) or 1 of the 2 black on white spotted species (providing someone can tell me their price tag isn't insane (I think leopoldis are?, and that they're compatible), at crimbos and b-days, or whenever I get a job :fun:

Of course I will look around and do a lot more research, but atm its a sat night and I'm lazy.

Ahh, nope, I wouldn't trust myself to do that much lmao, but I'm putting the whole system together.I have the basic tanks to be drilled, well only the two sump tanks need drilling now, and it's easy to do :D
How many oscars you think I could fit in it Nelly

Dont expect change from £1000 each for black rays and pearls arent much cheaper.

I wouldnt recomend keeping motoros with smaller species, i recently lost a yepezi and have another recovering in another tank after the motoros attacked them over night.

If you can source black rays expect to pay £800+ each but these are like trying to find rocking horse doo doo, pearls are obatainable for about £700 a piece. As for a RTG arowana it will cost you about £600 from a lfs or if you can find someone selling one you can usually pick one up for between £350-£450. Good luck.

Damn I was hoping pearls weren't going to be that much, if I were to go with motoros, how many could happily live together?
And what other rays would you reccomend?

Most rays apart from the few that get huge: tigers, flowers etc. I would go with a trio of motoros 1m 2f pick up a trio for £300.

yepzi rays are pretty cool.If I had it I would have a big shoal of pygo's.mixture of red bellies, ternetzi, caribe and piraya..well if you like piranha's go for that :hyper:

Hmm sweet. If I was to go for the smaller species might I be able to keep 4-5 of them?

Ahh cool.I never expected to get anymore than 2-3 anways.

i find a fire eel more attractive then a tyre track. either way its only one of each or none. fire eels especially are hell on other eels and themselves. take that coming from first hand experience

I'll go for the fire eel then, thanks for mentioning it lol.

Yeah I aggree with what other people are saying. Trio max of motoros, fire eel, and aro for top, maybe some lima shovelnoses and then pbass or (probably best size wise) siamese tigers for the middle would be great.
