So, I have a 20g long aquarium I'm almost ready to cycle, and I'm planning what I'm gonna put in. So far I'm leaning towards 6 otocinclus, 6 scarlet badis, and some red cherry shrimp. I kind of feel like that's pretty empty, but since the scarlet badis aren't aggressive feeders, I can't really add much else if I want them to survive. Any suggestions?

A group of chilli rasboras will give you some activity in the middle, and aren't very aggressive feeders.

I was looking for tankmates for scarlet badis in a twenty long not very long ago. I've since decided to breed shrimp, so I'm going fishless. But prior to that I'd settled on spotted blue eyes. Google them. The males put on quite a show and their max size of 1.5" makes them a good tankmate for some badis.

I advise not to get the rasboras like an above post suggested. I know all fish have different personalities and all but the couple I got were fin-nipping so bad I brought them back.

I suggest you get an African Dwarf Frog. ADF's are slow at eating because they have bad eye-sight. I see my ADF miss flakes all the time and eventually he'll actualy get one lol. I like them because it's unique IMO even though they are kindof popular.

I just googled the blue eyes. To me they look like a cross between a guppy and a danio.

Rasboras can be nippy, if you keep just a couple. Tetras, rainbowfish and danios, will often act out on their tank mates, when kept in insufficient numbers.

Thanks for the suggestion! Someone suggested spotted blue eyes, however I think they are probably much harder to find. Although I've heard most raspboras can be nippy, I'm prepared to take in a whole school, so they should be fine. :)
