Hello

i have had a tank setup for more of my little fish i have got guppys, 2 plecs, swordes, corys, male siamese (very peaceful), 1 red tailed black shark and platys. what other fish would go with these?

Cheers :good:

My thoughts exactly... How large is the tank? and how many swords, guppys and plattys do you currently have? because even with small fish like that in a "large tank" you could be overstocking very easily seeing as plattys and guppys breed like rabbits... Even in a 55 gallon tank for fish of this variety I'd reccomened no more than oh say 35-42 fish... including your plecos, which by the way get to be to around 2' long if their not froma fancy strain... even if they are most still achieve a length of atleast 10" and plecos become very territorial around 5-7" atleast mine did! I'd reccomend getting one of the plecos out of their before one of your kills the other like mine did at one point in time :( very sad to find one of your little, yet big, buddies flipped on the bottom of the tank dead... Anyways good luck starting your tank up and please get back to me with the size!

the tank is 70g and i was going to move pleco as one will grow 6in and other will grow 12in and im going to move 12in pleco to tank with bigger fish in i have 10 guppys, 3 platys, 4 swordes
Cheers :good:

Well in that case... I'd suggest a nice school of angle fish atleast 4 of them in a 70 gallon tank... as well you might want to add in some rosy barbs as they do wonders for your algea! They are also schooling fish and if I was you I'd get atleast 8 more females than males otherwise the males might kill off the females... lol anyways you were already aware of the plecos so thats good, means you've been doing your research (unlike some people), good luck with the set up :D oh and if you don't end up getting the angles get a school of 20-30 tiger barbs They make a BEAUTIFUL addition to any tank lol as long as it's big enough :D and yours is!!!! good luck :p

Thanks for all help
I have heard about barbs and ive heard that they are fin nippers would they be alright with the siamese cause he has a big fins. The angels sound good my lfs has some real nice little angels so i will get some next time i go up. Just wondering about barbs and fin nipping?
Cheers :good:

well... with Tiger barbs, if kept in a large enough shcool they tend to divert from their nippy habbits as the chance eachother instead of the other fish... Check this site it has loads of info on barbs, bettas and more www.aqualandpetsplus.com :D good luck with this, PS I have a school of 5 tigers with my angles and no fin nipping :) they work nicely as a school to get food and they're interesting to watch :D
