Stocking For 5 Gal?

Are there any livebearers that can be stocked in a 5 gal aquarium e.g. guppies and platies and what would their numbers of stocking be?

I wouldn't put any common livebearers in a 5-gallon as their swimming room would be on the low side. I would try Nano Fish instead. There is one Endler listed here.

I disagree. They would "fit" but the swimming room would be lacking.

Male guppies, which they most likely would be can't exactly swim fast because they have big fancy tails.I think 5 gallon is adequate, still I know that quite a few people will disagree.

While Guppies don't dart around like other fish, I still think they need the swimming room. Plus in a 5-gallon, it's more difficult to control parameters than in a larger tank. Smaller fish produce less bioload than larger fish and adult Guppies would be considered large for a small tank of 5 gallons.

A good choice if you can find them would be heterandria formosa.

just get a betta
