My 5ft FOWLR is well and truly up and running, doing tandem water changes with my reef and using the water from the reef to do changes on the FOWLR and params are just fine. At the moment there is a Juvenile Emperor Angel, juvenile Regal Tang (I know, I know but daughter and wife insisted), Longnose Hawkfish, Aptasia Filefish and a Cleaner Wrasse. I am now ready for the next batch of fish but really unsure, I may end up with a dwarf or Atenatta Lionfish down the road but for the moment I want some colourful additions, have loads of Aptasia in there and letting it grow with a view to adding a Copperband, also looking at another tang, probably a yellow and I have taken a fancy to a Cuban Hogfish but may be a bit too aggressive? So any ideas what would your next 4 fish be if it were your tank?

If it were my tank then the next four would be:

A male Bluethroat Trigger (Xanthichthys auromarginatus)
Chevron Tang (Ctenochaetus hawaiiensis)
Pinkspotted Goby (Cryptocentrus leptocephalus)
and either a Tailspot or Ornate Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus, halichoeres ornatissimus)

I best say this before Fishy mentions it bangaii cardinal.

I know these are only small but a group of barnacle blennies?

Yeah the Trigger is a beautiful fish, not sure about the Chevron I have a mind to get another Tang but not sure which one. So many Goby to choose from and not sure whether I want to add one to the FOWLR I have a chalk Goby in the Reef and he is fab. I suspect those Wrasse are dear ones but the ornate is beautiful.

Get a comet betta :) I love them!

Me too saw one in a shop the other day absolutely lovely but would be concerned how successful they would be in a FOWLR with Angels and Tangs, so I don;t think it will make it onto the list too expensive and beautiful an experiment to carry out.

blue face angel?

could of nice wrasse?

Not sure about another big Angel still deciding on that one but Blue face is lovely but Juve colours are too close to the Emperor for that to go well I think.

Hmmm so I have a 5ft tank and could put any one of hundreds of fish in and the fish of choice is a Bangaii? Well they might make it in there eventually...............as food for the Lionfish :hey: (joking)

CB would be fine with most other fish just because of it's very nature and design. It looks like a moray eel when it's in the rocks and can be quite an aggressive fish, just don't let it near your inverts!

harequin tusk
bangii cardinal

Good call on the Harlequin that has never come to my attention before will get a price for one of those, and I think we can assume a safe no on the Bangaii, they were going into my Reef tank but other (in my opinion more interesting) fish made it higher on the list.

Yeah too small I think, they are brilliant though fancy those in a single species tank.

No shrimp in there and only a big mexican turbo and some big hermits. Still wary about it though, have you kept them mate?

My lfs has a Harequin for sale for £90 its about 5inchs long atm

No but I deeply researched them and will keep one eventually, that besides having my nps reef flourish is one of my main salty goals. I love comet bettas!

Very hardy fish but sometimes hard to feed, this can be over come by feeding the tank feeder shrimp, when the CB spots a shrimp it goes into a fasinating hunting dance that confuses the prey before it strikes.

:good: Not sure I could bring myself to spend that much on one fish even though they are lovely, my LFS has mystery wrasse at £100 and I just don't understand the fascination not the most stunning fish around IMO would rather have a whole host of other wrasse.

My other thought has been a group of Lyretail Anthias, 5 females and a male, my LFS will do me a deal on that group for about £90. Think that would look pretty cool in the big tank.
