3) would It be okay to put guppies with a betta?

4) can I leave the mom in the tank and not in a breeding trap when giving birth?

Guppy females can get almost as big as a typical platy. Guppies with bettas is chancy depending mostly on the betta. A guppy female can have plenty of fry survive if she is well fed and there is cover in the tank for the fry. The betta will eat plenty of guppy or platy fry if given the chance. Platies are not quite as easy to raise from fry using just some cover as guppies. Platy adults tend to chase the fry more than guppies do.
