First : what's with the link you posted?
Second: I'm not fully understanding the question asked. A 20 gallon filter eill work in the tank but its recommendamed to buy a filter size UP so ypur filter isnt running at max capacity all the time. If its a 20 long you may also want to consider a bubbler to help with surface agitation. What about 45 gallone ? A 20gallon filter would only work in a 45g tank if there are more than one and a bubbler. If that's what you're asking?

The live bearers are not really compatible with the ram and gourami. What is your pH and water hardness? You should try matching fish to your water parameters out of the tap rather than getting fish that will need different water parameters.

Also, I would not keep a pearl gourami in a 20gal, long or tall. A 5-6in fish in a 20gal is not ideal for the fish at all.

Your list has fish that grow too big for a 20 gallon tank, and fish that have differing water needs.

Molllies, swordtails and platies are hard water fish, the rest are soft water fish. You need to find out how hard your tap water is, your water supplier's website should have that information somewhere. We need the number and the unit as they could use any one of half a dozen different units.

Pearl gouramis, Bolivian rams and mollies need a tank at least 36 inches long. Swordtails need a tank 48 inches long. So these species are not suitable for your tank.

We need to know your tap water hardness before we can say which of the smaller fish would be suitable.
