Hi all,
i'm looking for adivce on stocking my 900 gallon indoor pond. All i know is there will be archer fish.
there is the water conditions:
ph 7.2-7.8
gh hard
temp 75-80*
freshwater
the archers can not be harmed by any tank mates.
i was thinking of:
the archers,
1 hyposamus plecostamus,
1 arowana (if they can live in those conditions)
I'm open to any ideas! :hyper:

lots of small fish like every peacful fish availible maybe thats huge

huh? That dosent make any sense.

And you wouldnt be able to have that small fish as Archer Fish grow quite large and would see them as a snack

I would, it's not built yet, it's just a big cement room right now! :hyper:

so, would one of those little asian arownas work?
i like them :fun:

Please post piccys! I'm intrigued (can't spell it but you know what I mean!)

I take it archerfish wise you will specifically looking for Toxotes microlepis?

If so you can have no arowanas as the archers will probably just be eaten.

Toxotes microlepis can live in freshwater and I think are more suited than any mono...whenever I see monos for sale in freshwater they always have something wrong with them. If he was to go for monos, he would need to make sure that GH stays hard.

Probably the same deal with the archers though.

If Loony Fish is serious about keeping archers, he would be best to try keeping one in a tank with the same water first -should be no problem if he can afford to build, heat, filter and stock a 900gal pond anyway :).

It just saves loads of archerfish getting ill in the pond - if the fish doesn't do well in the tank, just convert the tank to brackish, much easier to achieve than with 900gal.
