Hi everyone,

I have a 15 gal, 24" X 12" X 12" currently stocked with 4 wagtail platties & 5 lemon tetras.

The tank has been running for 6 weeks with the fish in for 1 month. All seems ok with water
readings stable - PH - 7.4, Ammonia 0, Nitrate, 10, Nitrite 0.

I am hoping to add some more fish at the weekend, and realise 3-4 more small fish will probably mean it is fully stocked. Am I correct in thinking this?

I have live plants and a fine gravel substrate.

I am looking to for suggestions as to what else I can put in, in addition to increasing the lemon tetras to 6.

Would a honey gourami be suitable and would it scoff my plants.? Also pygmy corodoras cats, but would they be alright on my gravel and would they have sufficient room?

Other fish I thought of was cherry barbs, or some sort of Rasbora?

Any help gratefully received.

my advice would be get one more lemon tetra and 3 cories. I have albinio, emerald, panda and Julii cories and they're all adorable. Pygmy cories would be good too, you could get 4 of them.

I think you're well stocked already. Although, you could add one more lemon tetra and then maybe shrimp.

Really, am I fully stocked already?

I was hoping to add 2 or 3 more fish, wishing I'd got a bigger tank already!

I would really like to add some pygmy corries though, as my tetras and platties all seem
to swim mid-tank.

I have got quite a few plants and a quite large piece of bogwood so I suppose the corries
might not have enough room to grub about at the bottom?

Thanks for the advice

There are 3 cory species that are easy to get hold of and all of which grow to lesas than 2". Corydoras pygmaeus which is the smallest Pygmy Cory (reaches about 1"). C. hastatus 1" - 2" & C. habrosus around 2". Good luck. Not sure about stocking.

Well since platies and lemon tetras grow to 2" max each, you have 18" of fish already. I guess you could add 3 dwarf cories. Just keep ontop of your water stats and water changes and your tank'll be fine -- if slightly overstocked. ;)
