Stocking A 125 Gal

it can work, but is not common. i have one much worse then that, but it took a lot of work to get it to work. i definitely wouldnt suggest it

So i am going to purchase a 125 gallon within the next week or so.. and here is what i was hoping for.

1x Oscar
1x GT
1x JD
1x Red Devil
1x Midas
1x Texas

Pretty much a death tank.. all fish will start out less than 3 inches. I know, these fish get very large, around 8 - 12 inches, but not for at least 12 - 18 months. I know, oscars grow very fast, but that is the fish i am least worried about. So is there any chance of this working for a while, assuming the filtration is spectacular, and providing weekly water changes?
Should i get 3-4 TFB's to lighten the mood?

Thanks, take it easy on me...

I'd say it has little chance of working, and if a pair forms its game over. While a 125 might be a large tank, I don't think its large enough for the aggression involved here.

thanks for the fast replies. what type of tank do you have that is much worse bitter? just curious.
also do you think the tin foil barb's is a smart idea?

my cichlid comm has gt/rd/FH/jaguarS/dovii/festae/mayanS/and i believe i still have an umbee and even a smal convict hiding in there somewhere
oha nd the dithers include TFB and RHSD

damn intense tank ^^.

What about trying an electric blue JD, do you think it would survive? I have heard they are less aggressive than regular JD's, but you can't always believe what you hear (read). Is this usually the case?

I think it will be well overstocked. A red devil needs 75 gallons of water, and oscar needs 75 gallons of water, a midas needs 75 gallons of water and so on... I dont think it would be smart to have that many fish in that size tank. As shroob said a 125 is large, but with these fish the aggression and size is a major issue.
