i would like some ideal tanks.i've kept so many different fish my brain is running out of ideas lol

my tank is a rio 240 if thats any help.

its from my brother in law.yes i measured.it was touch and go.its at the bottom of the stairs so with the 100 gallon in place,it was a bit short on room for getting up the stairs lol.what can i add besides my 2 senegals????
and erm, non agressive cichlids? are there any?

yes, loads infact; many varieties of each rams and apistogramas, keyholes, angels (when not paired), kribs (again, when not paired), frontosas, severums, checkerboards, discus, firemouths (when not paired), lemon cichlids, Rainbow cichlids and shelldwellers. :)

Firemouths? I heard they become very aggressive when larger. I had a krib which attacked everything in the tank, and I had 4 rams, that I just took back coz they were hassling my USD cats and L001 lol.

I always get the oddballs :-(

its looking like

2 x senegals
1 x black knife
1 x semaprochilodus taeniurus

what do you think????

sounds good :)

hi everyone.i've now got

2 x senegal bichirs
1 x semaprochilodus taeniurus
8 x congo tetras

the semaprochilodus taeniurus is approx 3-4 inches long.
the senegals are approx 5-6 inches long
the congos are approx 2 inches long

the taeniurus is a stunning colour, but so shy.anyone want to swap for a small delhezi bichir ??????

semaprochilodus taeniurus should be kept in groups of about 3, or so I've read, they are great looking fish, but can become aggressive as well. So a shoal is a better way to go with them.

how much did you pay for it?

i paid £17 for it.my tanks not big enough for 3.

1 should be ok on its own,or,3 or more.

i,ve seen plenty of these, but never a nasty one.

my lfs has a 12 inch specimen and hes as gentle as a lamb.

They are amazing looking fish, they look like someone took their favourite bits of other fish and glued them all together, when I get my own place in the next 12months I have plans for a large tank, (6'x6'x6') I might get some to go in there with my Senegalaus and his other tank mates.

3/4/5 of these would look stunning.your right when you say they look like they are different bits of fish all put together.they are very good eaters, not fussy at all.
