Hi all,

Just want some advice as have read many posts of here with people having over stocked tanked. I have a Interpet 64 ltr, dimensions W60cm x D32cm x H37cm. At the moment I have 4 Peppered Corys and 3 Platys, been in for nearly 2 weeks now and looking nice and healthy.
Ideally I want some small shoaling fish a discus and a shark (maybe a red tail black shark). Is this possible or too much?
Thanks in advance guys!

Maybe some neons, cardinal borraras brigittae, chili rasboras, dwarf emerald rasboras, Pygmy cories. Rummy noses, or harlequin rasboras. Those are just some of the possibilities, PS I would up the number of peppered cories if I were you. And you cannot have discus or sharks. Because they are unsuitable for you tank, and is your tank cycled, if so how'd you cycle it

I would forget the Discus & even the shark... your tank is too small for them.

Go for some neons if your wanting a shoal.

Thanks for the replys. Bit gutted about the sharks, really wanted one of those.
Really shows that you need to read up alot before purchasing a new tank as I thought my tank was big enough.

Yeah sharks require a 55 gallon min. I almost got one for my 14 gallon when I didn't know any Better :look: and is your tank cycled and if so howd you cycle it

I almost bought a juvy Oscar but didn't when I found out the petstore sign was wring in saying 30 gallon minimum and they were semi-peaceful.

Both the peppered cories and the platies are happiest with temps on the low side, so you don't want to go for anything that really needs higher temps. Peppereds reach up to 3", but being a shoaling species, they prefer to be in a group of 6+, so this will take up a fair bit of your room.

I'd go for 6 peppered cories, the 3 platies that you have, then either 6 neons/cardinals/rummynose/harlequins or 10 chilli/dward emerald rasboras, and keep the temp to around 24C

I would leave the peppered at 4, its plenty and look at other species to suit your tank. As others have said, sharks and discus are an absolute no no. Small tank, small fish. even the peppered corys was pushing your luck, they do get chunky.
