im looking for stocking ideas for a 30 gallon established tank

waq80l.jpg

my tank measures 19"h 12"d 30"w
has an aquaclear 70 filter on it, and a heater
also contains live plants.

contains:
9 phantom tetra
1 albino bristlenose pleco

im thinking about adding another bristlenose pleco (maybe albino) my first one is half the size of a full grown one so i wouldnt count it against the tank .

looking for other stocking ideas, preferably something colorful or different looking.

also probably would like something larger then the phantom tetra

thanks for any help

Quite a nice blank slate :) Only thing I would say is always count full adult sizes unless you are planning to rehome.

As for more fish a group of Panda Cories would be nice or Dwarf Chain Loaches or Zebra Loaches would be great :) as a nice sized group of 6. If you wanted an other BN go for it :)

What about some feature fish? Some Dwarf Cichlids would do great in there - a nice hareem of Apistogrammas would be nice lots of good species to look at the common Cockatoos are always nice but I like the Panduro because of the colourful females :)

Though one thing I would add to that tank is some more water :) top it up the fish will appreciate it!!

i already did topped it off and plan to do a water change tomorrow, i took the pic yesterday (didnt have time to do it, 2nd weed of this semester)

i guess one of the things i forgot to mention is that i cant really stand the sand anymore, and am considering changing to gravel. (the sand is harder for me to clean and gets all over everything).

i think Panda Cories require sand right? (although those have been one of my favorite kinds of fish)

All cories and loaches really ought to be kept on sand.

I'd stick with it; gravel is much harder to keep clean; it just looks cleaner because all the gunk sinks into it!

also did you mean a group of 6 of 1 of the first groups and a "feature fish" ?

or did you mean or

A group of 6 or more of the Cories or Loaches would be good :) You could probably do 4 Apistos 1 Male 3 Female.
