Stocking 240l

i also like gouramis

would these be compatibe with the others?

could i suggest odessa barbs as part of your community, they grow to around 3 inches and are very active, they do well in a group,i have 6 now and once settle in the colour in them is gorgeous

yeah they look nice

is there any semi aggressive fish i could have like a shark or something that would be ok with the other fish i like and that would be ok on its own?

In the tank with my odessas i also have 1 golden gourami,2 blue gouramis,2 moonlight gouramis,3 bala sharks,6 bronze corys,a feathefin cat fish (sydontis eupterus),common plec and 4 clown loaches and they all do very well together,my golden gourami occasionally chases the other fish around but hes never nasty towards them

Currently they are in a 39 gallon (approx) but will be moving to a bigger tank as soon as its cycled,i am over stocked but only because i saved some fish from being flush down the pan when a friend got bored of them.

I have severe multi tank syndrome as i also have a tank coming next week, and will be buying 2 more tanks in the begining of may oooops.

yep pretty similar to me,i kept fish a long time ago but gave up for a while and now im back into it and by fist week in may i will have managed to have 5 tanks, its quite a sereious ilness this multi tank syndrome LOL

I have never kept red tailed sharks myself simply because the ones i have seen have been aggressive towards other fish they are in with, but maybe someone who keeps them will know better,i know they dont get along with bala sharks, one of the balas i saved was in a mess due to a red tail but thankfully i have nursed him back to health and hes happy and healthy now.

As i say someone with experience of them might know better.

yeah i think they are a problem if only kept with small fish but bigger fish keep them in check

basically i would love any of the following

redtail shark
gouramis
angles
another gbr
more cories
more pleos
tiger barbs

will they all work together, if so how many of each

can anyone advise me on my choice?

i have 2 rainbow sharks, very similar to the red tail black shark but not as aggressive, these are fine in my community tank i also have 2 silver sharks who are fine :good:

how does this sound in 240l

2 angle fish
2 german blue rams (1m 1f)
5 pitbull plecos
8 corydoras
4 gouramis (1m 3f)
10 tiger barbs
2 rainbow sharks

would this be over stocked or under stocked?

actually would the tiger barbs nip the anglefishes fins?

how about

4 angles
8 corys
5 pitbull plecs
2 german blue rams (1m, 1f)
a shoal of something small 10-15

i would also like a larger pleco but would they be ok on a carpet of plants instead of sand?

the tiger barbs would not be good with the angels because of the long fins
