So I am considering getting an AquaOne AquaStyle 850 as I am seeing really good prices on them at the moment. I have this same tank in a larger size and I really like it.

My water's ph is around 6.8/7.0

I am wondering what to put in it. I am definitely going to do a sand substrate.

So far I have thought of
- Blue Dwarf Gourami
- 10 x Cories (most likely peppered)
- 10 x Kuhli Loaches

Those are the fish I am deadset on having

Any suggestions for anything else?

I am thinking lots of bright/unusual/fun fish as my other tank is a very calm goldfish tank. Maybe neon tetras?

What is the footprint of the tank? The dimensions will rule out certain species.

Well neon tetras would definitely be an active addition to the tank, they are not very hardy. Cardinals are a good tetra choice. You could also get a school of rasboras if you like those, maybe espei. Rasboras work very well with gourami.

You'll want to avoid anymore lower level fish as that section is already full if you get both the loaches and the cories. But a school of about eight Rasboras or tetras would fill it out nicely.
