first question how do you caught them ( do you just get a net put it in the water )

2 question
how big to they grown
could i put them in my 1x1 1/2x1 gold fish tank

Dont catch any stickelbacks, they are actuallly a freshwater whale, Aonya honalalis tacharia. The babies closely resemble stickelbacks.

I know everything about fish

Some species of stickleback are now endangered/threatened, are they not?

Ha. Even if they are a freshwater whale, the largest I've ever seen is about 3" long. I would ask in the pond fish section, you might get more replies. But, I have kept some, and unless you have a constant supply of small live food such as mosquito larvae or daphnia, I wouldn't suggest it. Mine wouldn't touch flake or even frozen. I had to return them to the stream.

BTW, the "gold fish tank" specs work out to about 8 or so gallons. Not really large enough for goldfish. Maybe 1 small one, but even that would outgrow it soon enough. The general rule of thumb for ornamental gold fish is 10 gallons for the first one, 20 gallons for each one after that.

Damn. Alright, listen to Meg then, lol. She seems to be a better source on goldfish than me. I had them when I was a little kid, I try to remember what I pick up on here.

Twenty gallons for one goldfish? That seems just a little too generous, doesnt it? It makes sense for a gargantuan carp, but not for a tiny feeder or veiltail. My brother keeps a goldfish in a 1.5 gallon, it is not stressed at all, and does not show any sign of deterioration. Id bet you guys would like a go at him, hmm?

But anyways, sticklebacks are fast swimming coldwater fish. I would reccomend a twenty for a trio. Feed them plenty of live foods.

As for the remark about the whale, you need to change your sources of info, Lucas. Good try on the latin name, though. The genus and species name are clearly made up, and tacharia means a "hidden mummy" or something along the lines of.

FALSE
Those fish potentially get to be about 12 inches long.
Goldfish In Tanks: What You Should Know

Chestnut? Honestly. Just because you or someone you know does it doesn't mean it's right.

I'd always heard that goldfish grow as big as their tanks, but I understand now that they will fail to grow if the tank is to small. My son got the worlds tiniest goldies from the fair (our first fish) they must have been 3/4 of an inch long but they are now a good 4 inches each a year later.

so they will not ate flakes ???? just live ????

they actually dont really need no care! i just put a bit of lettuce in every week and that was eaten by them! i also saw them eating the moss.

if i get some will they ate the same

how old to they live for ????

i might get a bigger tank what size ???? would be best ????

will they need a filter ????

outside i have a water fountion thing it got a bucket which is about 1 1/2 ft prob 30 g its round & water falls in to it could i put them in there ????

To be honest, I think people would just give details on the effects of stunting a fishes growth. As someone who has kept goldfish (3 in a 5 gallon as a newbie) and then moved up to a suitable 10 gallons each 4ft tank, the change was incredible.

Not too generous at all, those in the know about goldfish say not generous enough.

i am in the uk

what is the different will the 9 spin grown bigger if so i want the 3 ????
