Steve Irwin has been killed from a stingray sting to the chest in the Great barrier reef filming marine footage for a new documentary.

Shocking aint it? I was only talking about him yesterday... :look:

RIP

I know, took a stingray barbo to the heart. Of all the more aggressive animals he handled I'm amazed a stingray got him. Sad day

This is really such a terrible event. I can't believe the Croc Hunter is dead, and it is ironic that it was a stingray and not one of those giant reptiles that he is always cuddling with. I almost feel like a friend died and I wasn't even a huge follower of his shows or anything. He was by far the only reason my TV set ever tuned into the Animal Planet channel. It is way too hard to watch those ASPCA shows with all the neglected animals, but he was certainly the bright spot in the animal world and is the reason I know way too much about animals that I will never see without the use of a television or computer. If only all of us had half of his enthusiasm and caring for the other inhabitants of this planet.

RIP

They say he died instantly so he must notive felt any pain, He will be missed

It's been a long, long time since I watched his show. I also feel like a special friend died... even though I never was within 1000 miles of him. I too think it was good that he at least died doing what he loved.

But, life must go on... but for now, we can all shed a tear... :rip:
