Did a frozen bloodworm feed when i got home tonight, 20 mins later my Sterbai's started to go nuts! This is the second time they have attempted to spawn but this time they have been working it like no tomorrow. I've realised i have 2 females and 4 males in my group now, which is quite nice as its an excellent combination. However, its been a real struggle to get the eggs out as they only lay 3/4 at a time and mostly on the underside of leaves, so i literally have to sit there and watch then, then reach in and either pluck off the leaf or attempt to peel the eggs off with my finger!

I did a little video, nowt special but might be of interested to some:

Start with T position, an egg lay on a leaf that gets eaten! then a succesful egg lay. yey!

I've put the eggs onto the fry tank glass, same as i did the bronze spawn a few months ago, going back and forth made quite a puddle on the floor! I've chucked in a moss ball, a couple of alder cones and ramped the temp up to 27 degrees. Need to find a lid for the tank as the water does tend to evaporate quite quickly! Tested the water also, as i only dosed it with a drop of ammonia a few days ago, all looking good.

Fingers crossed they are fertile, T position is promising!

I'm going to go back to egg hunting, its quite tiring :)

This is so exciting! I hope the eggs are okay and that you get some little sterbabies :)

heh :D

Well they have stopped for the night now it seems, 42 eggs in total. Have to see what happens come the weekend when they should hatch.

Nice mate and great video, good luck i hope they hatch.

what a great vid!

Really good mate, love it when the Rummy's take advantage of the situation.

Wooooooooop! Well done dude. Fry tank is cool, will be great to see how many you end up with!

How is the little Bronze doing?

The single bronze i kept is good, hes still in the 90 litre above the fry tank belting around, hes about the size of a fully grown panda now, i should probably chuck him in the main tank as hes quite capable of fighting over food at feeding time now! :D

Little legend!

Would be great to all of your Sterbai hatch, you'll have a nice little fleet! (Let me know when they need homes ;))

My 9 Panda's seem to have settled in well, even if i cant tell if they are eating or not!

hmmmz only two white eggs so far, looking good :) water has gone all murky from the alder cones, no fungus at all.

Congrats on the strebia fry  , they will be so cute when they start colouring up  . My strebia recently spawned again but I didn't rescue the eggs this time as last time I had so much trouble finding homes last time for them and I think 15 is more than enough to keep for myself.

Still got 4-5 babies from this spawn in the tank, quite a few just seemed to curl up and snuff it. They spawned again last night and i picked out a dozen or so along with some eggs i found on the back of the tank, no idea what they are!

how are they getting on m,ate, my sterbai spawned as well Friday but I havent got a fry tank set up yet sp they are left in on the leaves
